MICROSOFT FINALIZING BIOSHOCK 2 EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH TAKE-TWO?

BioShock was hailed as the game of the year by many critics back in 2007. The game definitely earned that title as it mixed various genres while providing an engrossing and original story. There is still some question as to if BioShock 2, the sequel, will be a timed Xbox 360 exclusive like the original or if it will be a day-one multiplatform title.

Take-Two recently released a list of games that will be coming out this fiscal year, which ends in October. Pretty much all of the games on the list indicated which platform it will be out on except two. One game is called Beaterator which is a music rhythm game which Take-Two already revealed to be coming out on the PSP. The other game is none other than Bioshock 2 which has TBA next to the name.
It really is curious as to why Take-Two continues to refuse to reveal the platforms for Bioshock 2. The teaser trailer for the sequel was shipped on the PS3 version which is a good indicator that the game will come out on that platform. There is very little doubt that the game will come out on both platforms, but will Microsoft get a timed exclusive deal like last time?
There is only one likely reason why Take-Two has yet to reveal the platforms and that is because the publisher is probably in negotiations with Microsoft on securing the game as a timed exclusive. You may not realize it but this type backdoor dealings happen often.

Microsoft revealed that there will be some unannounced exclusives near the end of this year and Bioshock 2 may be one of those games. With the state of the economy, company exec’s will look for ways to have one’s cake and eat it too.

If Take-Two can get a nice hefty check from Microsoft and release Bioshock 2 six months later on the PS3, it just might be too tempting to pass up. However, the only downside to this practice is that late launching games rarely sell well.

2K: BIOSHOCK 2 DEFINITELY BOUND FOR PS3
Not exclusive to 360, as is being rumoured

2K has reaffirmed that Bioshock 2 is bound for PS3, following speculation over the possibility of it being a 360 exclusive. Rumours on the internet claim that Microsoft has been gunning for another timed exclusive with the sequel, fueled by a recent release schedule from 2K that listed the game's platform as TBA.

A 2K rep has however confirmed to CVG that the game is definitely coming to Sony's console, although we're awaiting word back on whether or not the game will be a timed exclusive like the original, which released on 360 over a year before the PS3.

The game is set to feature in the next issue of the Australian Official PlayStation Magazine (according to this pic), however, which could hint that the game's not too far off for PS fans.

Da Game Informer

-You play as Jake Abbott a private investigator searching for one of the girls kidnapped by Big Sister.

- Jake won’t be the only one investigating Rapture. At some point in the story, Soviet agents arrive from a submarine, hoping to acquire Adam and use it to gain an advantage over the Americans in the Cold War. Soviet enemies will be much smarter than splicers, using cover and flanking maneuvers and working in groups. As the game progresses they will begin splicing themselves and be able to use plasmids against you. The Soviets and splicers will fight against each other and the player can use that to their advantage. ”

-Game takes place in 1967, 7 years after the original

-A cutscene starts the game off In New York City as Jack intercepts the Big Sister kidnapping his daughter in his beachhouse. He follows it to the near by shores as it submerges into the water

- Epic boss battles and underwater gameplay. Much of Rapture is now flooded and you will need to don a diving suit to explore these areas as well as venture outside Rapture itself. An underwater boss fight was shown with a gigantic squid, which can cloak itself and use its massive tentacles to smash into Rapture and hurl debris. One of the concept artworks hinted at a boss battle with a mutated, spliced rhino in Rapture’s zoo.

Solving the whole Big Sister debate:
-Only one Big Sister (Mastermind of game)

-Big Daddies are no longer in the game, but new enemies include dogs and soviets

Some other goodies
-Completely new levels of Rapture, including a fully explorable zoo.
-Underwater exploration levels
-New weapons and plasmids (Including a telepathy and time control)
-Challenge maps
-2 Player co-op. (No mention on who second player is)
-New Health and Revival System
